“I do notice the more subtle things, the sharing, the camaraderie, the assumption of comfort. It’s nice. Simple. Peaceful. Not continuous elation, but togetherness, and presence… Out here, we’re friends, we can depend on one another, but back in the city, we again become strangers, we resume our complacent roles in urban anonymity. But perhaps we carry memories of these moments, fostering an inner world of softness and a capacity for connection, and will pounce at the slightest crack in our concrete jungle, flood it with warmth and curiosity and compassion.”
